So I have this amazing friend Jen. Like, she’s AMAZING. You know why? Because not only in she a foster parent, she is a great friends and has a heart bigger than Texas.
Jen had two foster children, under the age of three. Then she got a call. Three former foster kids of hers were back in the system, and their bio-Mom requested that Jen and her husband take them back. Five kids people. Five kids, under five. I am pretty sure I would have run screaming in the other direction. But not Jen and her hubby. They knew these kids knew them, and were traumatized. So they took them back.
Not only is it five kids under five. It’s five kids being dragged back and forth through the system with judges who don’t really know what’s going on. It’s kids getting home from visits and freaking out. Or freaking out before visits because it produces such anxiety in them. It’s going to court, and literally feeling like your spirit is being drained from you as you watch an out of touch legal system decide the fate of five kids. Under five.
On top of all this Jen blogs, she shares her life, her faith, and her foster care journeys with us. And she’s started a blog link-up once a month for other foster parents who blog.
I invite you to check it out, and share it with any foster parents you know:
